Asperula tinctoria - A very rare perennial herb. 30 cms height.Full sun to part shade, with some protection from very hot summer sun. Produces small white flowers. A red dye is made from the roots, this was used by the ancient Greeks and Romans to dye their clothes. Grows in most soil types,and prefers the soil to be well drained and moisture retentive.
