The whole plant has been used since ancient times, with ancient records describing its many uses. Excellent as an animal fodder plant, the fruits and leaves improving the all over health of animals and said to improve their milk and egg production and improve growth rates in poorly animals. Sea Buckthorn roots also fix nitrogen in the soil. Will grow in most soil types, including poor and salty soils. Likes well drained soils. Sea Buckthorn requires a male and a female plant to produce fruit.
