Allium cepa var./Aka Allium cepa perutile - Hardy evergreen perennial onion. Full sun. Clump forming growth habit. Self multiplies quite prolifically. Grows in most well drained soil types. An easily grown, low maintenance perennial vegetable. Will also grow well in pots. Excellent culinary plant, green aerial parts and underground bulbs both edible. Use the green tops as you would spring onions, bulbs can be used as you would onions and shallots. Frost hardy. A very rare perennial vegetable, that deserves to be grown a lot more.
