Bellis perennis - Herbaceous perennial ground cover. 15-20 cms height, 50cms width. Full sun to part shade, although we have found here with our hot summers afternoon shade is a must.  Masses of classic white petalled, yellow centred daisy flowers over a long period from spring to autumn. Flowers close at night and open again in the morning. Grows in most well drained moist soils. Young leaves can be eaten raw or cooked. Flower buds and petals also edible. A tea is also made from the plant. A medicinal plant used internally and externally. A tonic plant for animals. Frost hardy.
