Cichorium intybus ‘Red Dandelion’ - A very hardy perennial edible and ornamental plant. 30 cms height. Full sun. A bitter flavoured herb, with medicinal properties. Leaves can be eaten raw or cooked. An Italian native plant, much favoured in Italian cookery. Beautiful green leaves with bright red ribs, which retain their colour when cooked. Frost and heat tolerant. Dandelion is also a great animal fodder plant, being both of medicinal and high nutritive value to them. A great cut and come again plant. Easily grown in most soils.
