Tigridia pavonia - A bulbous herbaceous perennial plant, producing beautiful flowers in the summer time. The flowers can be pink, red or orange or yellow. The bulbs are edible, and are roasted or boiled by Native American Indians and Mexicans for consumption and has a long history as a food crop. The bulbs must be cooked ,it is not too be eaten raw. Cacomitl also has traditional medicinal uses. Plant in full sun to part shade and give water during the growing season.
