Malva sylvestris ssp. mauritiana - Hardy perennial Full sun to part shade. 100-150 cms height. Dark violet flowers produced en masse, throughout summer and autumn. Flowers very attractive to butterflies and bees. Easily grown in most soil types, but prefers a rich well drained soil. We grow it here in a warm sunny position, and it copes very well with the hot summer sun. The flowers are good for cutting. Prune down in the autumn. An attractive and unusual plant.
